چکیده

Background: In experiments with homeopathic medicines is important to test the inert vehicle from succussed preparations for treatment control. Aim: To evaluate effect of hydro-alcoholic solutions 1cH, 6cH and 30cH in mice’s experimental infection Trypanosoma cruzi. Methodology: a blind, randomized, controlled test, two independent 34 51 swiss male mice, 8 weeks old, kept cages micro acclimated, infected 1400 blood trypomastigotes Y strain T. cruzi (via IP), were divided: IC-untreated control; G1cH-received solution dynamized 1cH; G6cH-received G30cH-received 30cH. The prepared according Brazilian Homeophatic Pharmacopoeia1 alcohol 70 ° GL. Final (1cH, 30cH) manipulated water (Sigma-SP-Brazil). was offered diluted (1/100mL) ad libitum 48 hours before infection, available 16h. After animals treated 56h/56h 16h until 9th day infection. parasitological parameters analyzed: Curve Parasitemia, Total Parasitemia (TP), Peak Maximum Parasites (PMP), Pre-Patent Period (PPP), Patent (PP) Survival. experiment approved by UEM’s Ethical Committee. Results: G1cH showed higher survival (p=0.044) life expectancy 2.58 times larger than control group (Figure 1.A), as well lower TP (p=0.002) PMP (p = 0.018). PPP PP no statistical difference, although G1cH1 it observed an increasing trend (p=0.065). These results are related host’s benefit. G6cH presented longer (p=0,045), 1.94 1.B). Although difference TP, PMP, has been observed, performed protecting against G30cH displayed (p=0.066) compared group. Effects have reported studies vitro2. However, effects had vivo yet2,3. 7% 13CH, tested under same conditions animal model, did not change natural evolution infection2. Conclusion: 1cH altered course cruzi, reducing parasitemia and/or time, can be considered high compounds preparation.

Effects of some fractions from Achillea biebersteinii and A.millefolium on the epimastigotes of Trypanosoma cruzi

Higher plants are a potential source of new drugs to improve the treatment of Chagase disease, which is affecting 16-18 million people, with more than 100 million exposed to the risk of infection (Ambrozin et al., 2004; Coura & Castro, 2002). Current therapy is unsatisfactory, because the only two drugs available, benznidazole and nifortimox possess severe side effects and their activity is lim...
